Within the organisational context a peer suppporter (or peer support officer) is a specially trained staff member who volunteers to be available to support other staff members through stressful times at home or at work.

Principal Psychologist, Julia McKenzie Palmer has extensive experience in developing peer support programs and providing ongoing peer support training for organisations including emergency service departments and hospitals.  Julia utilises the psychological first aid model or the Critical Incident Stress Managment (Mitchell model) depending on organisational needs and preferences.  Julia can conduct accredited training through Crisis Intervention and Management Australasia (CIMA) for organisations electing to use the Critical incident stress managment model.
