Your doctor determines whether you are eligible for the Medicare Better Access Initiative so you will need to organise an appointment to discuss this with your doctor as a Mental Health Plan needs to be in place before you can claim a Medicare rebate for a consultation with a psychologist. 

 

If you already have a Mental Health Care Plan in place you will need to bring a referral letter from doctor to your first appointment. 

 

 

All Psychology assists Centrelink Health Care Card holders by offering a concessional consultation fee. Your Medicare rebate can be processed through the Medicare Easyclaim system following your appointment and these funds are usually deposited immediately back into your savings account. Please call the All Psychology office if you would like information. 

 

 

You will need to check directly with your private health fund to see if your extras cover includes psychologists and the rebate that you are entitled to as these vary across health funds.  Whilst HICAPS facilities are available not all health funds are registered with HICAPS.
